Now I have learnt and noticed many things over the years of being a beautician. And one of these things actually makes me pretty sad. And that's that women apologise for everything.
I would honestly say that about 90% of my clients apologise for something during their treatments. Whether it's that they haven't shaved their legs before a massage, that their toe nail polish is chipped, or that they haven't washed their hair before a head massage (I mean honestly don't bother I'm only going to mess it up!!!)
Hey folks!
I am officially reopening on the 19th April and my books are now open. Hooray!
Hey folks!
So looks like I might get to reopen on April 12th BUT for now my books will remain closed. After a year of endlessly rescheduling appointments due to government u-turns I would like to wait until things are more definite.
Hi all, just a brief message to say I am closed and will not be opening until it is safe to do so.
Hey folks!
As many of you already know I have been slowly, slowly adding back some treatments. Now available to book are: tinting on lashes and brows, sugaring on the face, and waxing on the face. Hooray!
Well.. it was going to happen at some point folks!
I want to keep this post as positive as possible, but on a serious note, I do not want to belittle what is going on. Please know how devastating to me the effects of this virus are. Watching the news has been crushing and I can't even imagine the pain and suffering of the families and friends that have lost people in their lives. Closer to home I have seen friends lose jobs and businesses. I am incredibly lucky to be in the position I am - where I can close, but almost certainly return.
So I've decided to start using an online booking system that requires you to enter your card details.
I think many of you will know the issues I've had with my card terminal recently. I'm hoping that by being able to easily take payments online, we can avoid me slowly losing the plot and throwing the card terminal at the wall... etc
I’ve recently been trying out the Khus + Khus detox serum and hydrolat. And to be honest, these have come at a funny time in my life. Big change has happened, and although it has been good change, I have definitely been going through a grieving process for what was… These beautiful products contain very powerful herbal formulas, with quite intense aromas. So, that alongside the timing of using them, I found that my reaction to these products was quite emotional. So this review might be a little …different than normal. I’m desperately going to try to not get too …out there.. for you guys. But I’m not making any promises! Ha!
Have you seen the new perfume collection that everyone’s talking about? Meet Abel, a 100% natural perfume brand. Housed in chic, sleek packaging with decadent scents that can thrill you, inspire you, soothe you.
While I was feeling very sorry for myself in hospital an absolutely exquisite parcel arrived for me. Nestled inside were beautiful little testers of the entire Abel Vita Odor collection…..
Meet Thesis, a family run business that craft and create green, cruelty free and totally vegan beauty products. They use exceptional organic certified ingredients, eco-friendly packaging and hand make each item in small batches. On paper, Thesis sounds like the perfect skincare range for me, so I was so excited to be able to test some of their products for the blog.
On a cold (as heck) day I wandered across Easton over to Tame The Mane. I’d describe Tame The Mane as an anti-salon, in that it’s the least salon-y salon you’re going to find! Friendly, inviting, everyone is welcome. They use eco-friendly, green products - often mixed by hand, just for you! You can have your mirror covered, or un covered. They KNOW the intimidating parts of your usual hair salons and have really tried to create the a much more relaxing, MUCH less anxiety provoking space.
I think almost everyone is trying to live slightly more environmentally friendly now, the general public seem to be getting more and more aware of things like disposable items, unnecessary packaging, the ethics of companies, and the ingredients that go into things. It’s brilliant, I see people taking their reusable coffee cups out with them all the time now, and more and more people are getting into green beauty (wahey!)
But something that’s still a little shied away from is our periods, and the products, waste, and big (baddie) corporations that seem to come hand in hand with them.
